DOGTECT is my thesis project. Statistics show that 31% of households in the United States is raising dogs, and there are now various wearable devices for pets on the market. However none of the devices involve the mental health of pets. Dogs can’t talk, but they’re just as emotional as humans. I thought it would be nice to have a device that would help owners understand their dog’s mood. So I designed a device and a mood centered detection system for puppy owner know their puppy better. Working with a mobile app, users can monitor their dogs’ moods to learn about their mental state. Based on the analysis of the five factors (weather, exercise, diet, behavior, rest) that would impact dog’s mood, the system provides users with reasonable treatment suggestions to help their dogs in a good mood everyday.
